BT 15 POINTS TO 3. SYDNEY. June 9. The match between the New South Wales Union team and the New Zealand native team was poorly attended, only about 3.000 spectators being present. Woods replaced Winiata. in the native team, and Wood took Walker's place in the home team. Play was rather dull in ( the first spell, in which New South Wales scored two tries. Improvement was shown by both teams in the second half. Ryland scored for the visitors, and two more tries were gained by the home players, a penalty goal making New South Wales' total 15, the natives' score beine 3. In a rough-and-tumble scrum in the first spell Riki, the New Zealand halfback, had his leg broken, his place in the team being taken by Paki.
