ART SOCIETY.
The Auckland Art Society's annual exhibition at the Coburg Street Gallery continues to attract large numbers of visitors. Yesterday afternoon witnessed the record attendance of the exhibition since it was opened, while to-day the gallery was again well patronised. On Saturday, -when afternoon tea is dispensed in the rooms, it is anticipated that large numbers or ort lovers and of the general public -will visit the gallery. 80 far five pictures and three pieces of hand-painted r.hinaware havp been purchased, -while other eal«3 are pending. The sales include "livening G'lyw, Aueidaed liarhour" (by Walter WngftC)-, ~. Maori Village. Urewera Country" (Clr.is. Bl outfield) ; "Golden Days" .(Walter Wright); Nursery Pietnre '(E.K.TS-h and '-Autumn" (E.K.8.). The three pieces of China, sold were jeD paieted by Mice "S. Jokine.
