THREE BIG FIRE.

SYDNEY, April 29. A fire has gutted St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church at Grafton. Practically all the valuable contents have been destroyed. The insurance amounts to £500. Tbe damage is estimated at £3,000. It is considered that bats, which visit the church in flocks, may have caused the fire by upsetting the brazier containing the sanctuary light. A fire to-day did £5,000 worth of damage to material in the premises of the Buttonhole and Fancy Costume Company and other tenants. ADELAIDE, April 29. The premises of the National Incandescent Mantle Company were gutted by fire to-day. The loss is estimated at £1,000. The brigade prevented the fire spreading to the Empire Theatre, which adjoins the building in which the outbreak occurred.
