His Excellency the Governor (the Ean of Liverpool) j accompanied by, tfce Comrtees of Liverpool, arrived at Thames this afternoon by epectal train. They were received at the railway station by if* ' Mayor, the chairman ■of ' the fiarboijr Board, and members of local bodice.- ; j His Excellency was conducted .'to. the Victoria Reserve, where* large enrrd had assembled, and. was received with'a Boyal salute by the Senior Cadet*. .The Mayor presented his Excellency with an illuminated address in book form, .and the Governor, in replying to the address,thanked the citizens for their loyal and cordial welcome. He stated that lie was jnucli pleased with thfe general applause of prosperity and the spirit, of Royalty that he had noticed in every.district he had visited.
