SPORTS PROTECTION LEAGUE

ANNUAL MEETING. There was a good attendance at the first annual meeting of the Sports' Protection League, held in the Chamber of Commerce on Friday evening. The chairman, in his opening address, said; thnt under the present constitution the whole of the work was centralised in Wellington. He -was of the opinion that a great movement of tlrie kind could not be properly looked after by one officer. The Dominion should be formed into districts or divisions, and- the work of the Auckland district done in Auckland City, and then forwarded on to Wellington, "this suggestion was supported by Messrs E. B. L/usk and C. E. Major, smd endorsed by the meeting. The balance-sheet and report were adopted, and the following officers elected:— President, His Worship the Mayor (Mr C. J.
