Also, on May s,"Northern Club's conversazione to his Excellency the Governor, to he attended by the captain arid officers of the warship, and on May J shooting, match between the men of "the warship and a district team. Other suggestions' were/ added as folr lows:—(a) Noncommissioned Officers* Club.will proba-biy entertain the N.C.O.'si of the battleship at. dinner; (b) picture theatres will be. open-free to the men; .(c) Reception- Committee ha_ arranged with the Tramway Company that sailors shall receive passes which will enable them to travel on any branch of the system during their stay in Auckland; (dj the Automobile Club has offered to take the officers for drive.; (c) the Auckland Golf Club's course will be free to the officers. ; This list has been approved, subject to; the following alterations:—(l) That 250 men would lunch at, the Town "Hall on both April 30 and May 2; (2) Captain Halsey could arrange for only 100 men to visit Rotorua, and desired that they. should leave Auckland on May 4 and be. hack at 5 p.m. on May 6;■""(_.) the 'battleship would leave Auckland on May 10 as originally suggested; (4) the battleship would be in Auckland again » from June 21 to June 28 inclusive, but as the siiip would have to be revictuall_d and coaled it was desired that ho 'en-: tertahnnents should be arranged for that 1 week; (5) the ship would lie. at anchor 1 in the streaia on.both occasions. r The Tramway Company has agreed to 5 carry the officers and men of the warship r on the' tramcars at any time during the 1 visit for a sum of £50, and the Company " has also donated £10 toward the enter : 1 tainment fund.
