At.~.£.meeting .of. the btahuhn Borough Council, the Deputy-Meyor (Mr H; J. Hall) presiding, four applications were received for the' positioatof borough ranger, and the appointment is to be made by the Council In committee. ' It decided to assist tie Mairakan County Council and Mnngere Eoatl Board to get a road made through the Government land" between the Favona Estate .'and tie Otahnhu railway station. ;An agreement was arrived at to supply the Mangere Road Board with -water at 1/3 per 1,000 gallons; the price to be 1/ if more than two million gallons were consumed In twelve months. The Council accepted an invitation from tie flre brigade to attend a smoke concert in the Masonic Hall. It -was agreed to snpply the Plumbers' Board of New Zealand with a full list of plumbers licensed by the Council. The Works Committee recommended that tie Hokonnl (Estate roads be taken over by the Conncll after a slight alteration lad been made. JEhe committee also recommended the Council to accept dedication of MeLamon's Soad when the water had been drained off, and to grade and metal iloa Street The Council was. also advised to Join the County Council in repairing the TamaM Bridge. /The report was adopted, with the exception of the recommendation, in regard to MeiLamon's Road, which was referred back foT inrthfer -consideration. The Water and Drainage Committee Teported bad plumbing iwork, and ■ advised an inspection ot all outside the drainage area. The clerk's, report on the work,of the Council during - its of office was .approved. '
