MOUNT EDEN.
The ordinary meeting of the Mount Eden Borongh Council last night was attended by the Mayor (Mr O. Nicholson) and Councillors Yates, Davis, Burns, Jones, Woolley, Shackleford, Seabrook, Melkle, Fotter, Hooton, Grayson, and Hudson. Street Lamps.—A report recommending that street lamps be placed as follows:— Oue in front of Enfield Street (fate Eden Street) Hall, one at the end of lane oil Eden Vale Road, oue in Sherborne Road between Bellevue Road and Valley Road, two in Valley Road between Council Chamber and Dominion Road, two in View Road, one near Smceton's, and one between Victoria Avenue and Sherbourne Road; lamp at corner of Sherborne Road and Valley Road be moved to opposite side of Valley Road; one In Prospect Terrace between Dominion Road and bend, " oue in Dominion Road opposite Halston Road, one in William Street between Dominion Road and Volcanic Street, one iv Balmoral Road at entrance to Pine Street, one in Mont le Grand Road, one In Grange Road, one in Walrlki Road at corner of Mount Eden Road, one in Ashton Road. The report was adopted. Deferred. —A small amount of correspondence dealing with matters of streets repair work was deferred to supply edification for the new council at its firstmeeting.
