HOSPITAL BOARD.

LAST MEETINGOF THE YEABi. The Hospital and Charitable Aid Boaro , held the,last ordinary meeting of the current term last night. Those present were ! the Chairman (Mr H. Schofield). Messrs P. ■ M. Mackay, P. J. H. Ellisdon, XL J.- Coylc; J. S. Dickson, M.P.. J. Jenkin, 1 , .-X Net--. heny, E. H. Potter, J. H. Rutherford, and F. Dye. An apology was received from W. Wallace for absence on account of ill , health. DENTAL HOSPITAL. An application submitted to the last meeting of the Board for an extra chair for the dental hospital was granted, on the recommendation of the Finance Committee, the cost not to esceed £100. A proviso was made that the chair should be procured as Soon as local bodies have paid contributions in arrenr for the current year. In response to a further request for the appointment of another honorary anaesthetist the Board decided to request the honorary medical staff to report as to a suitable medical man for the position. HONORARY ANAESTHETIST. The Medical Superintendent recommended the appointment of another honorary anaesthetist for the hospital. Dr. Magulrc suggested that the Board should arrange to pay the anaesthetists, as difficulty was experienced in getting medical men to do this work. An alternative suggestion was the appointment of another junior doctor to the resident staff. The matter was referred to the Finance Committee. CHARITABLE AID. A committee report showed that charitable aid had been dispensed during the month to 3] new cases/ and to 37 old -cases. FINANCIAL. .The Finance Committee reported tn» receipt of a further instalment at fo.OOd from the Public Trustee., Accounts amount J«S-«e f5,998.4/3 -were passed for payment,
