The accounts, remarked the MayoT, had not been in such a good position, for several years, and iha interest on overdraft had never been Jes3. ' The amoTsit received for general rites liad been £4,421 13/6, and Government subsidy had amounted to £428 7/5. The water supply acconnt showed that the year had ended with a credit balance of £L£ls 4/1, -which yas not co large ac that of last year, but really represented a better position when the extensions to water mains, and increases in material and tools, as well as the increased price of coal, -were taken into consideration. The cemetery acconnt showed & credit balance for the year just ended of £127 6/4; ana the Hospital and Charitable Aid account a credit of £166 10/7. The amount paid to the Auckland Hospital and Charitable Aid Board was £713 9/. The lighting rate acconnt showed c. credit of £71 13/6, -the amount paid to the Auckland Gas Co., Ltd., being £321 13/9. The amount unexpended on March 31 last of the supplementary loan of £1,195 obtained from the State Guaranteed Advances Office was £311 10/5. The halfdozen interest accounts showed credit of from £35 to £96. The sinking fund account showed that £2,050 had been invested, the sum of £86 6/ still .awaiting investment.
