TO CORRESPONDENTS.

R.M.—The weight of the metal is nearer 951b. CUSTOMS STREET WEST. (To the Editor.) Sir, —I am glad, that the architects have made a protest against the uso to which a portion of the above street is to be put. The more one considers the position the more monstrous it becomes. On one day we have the Mayor proposing to spend anything up to £20,000 in opening up a new way ol egress from the waterfront, and the next day he is doing his best to block traffic in a street which is now one of the main exits from that part of the city. Sacli actions are to mc simply incomprehensible, and I hope, ere it is too late, other public bodies will do as the architects have done, and make a strong protest against them. —I am, etc., H. N. BAGNALt.
