GERMANY'S CHALLENGE
TO NAVAL SUPREMACY. LONDON, February 1. The Naval and Military Defence Committee of the London Chamber of Com-! merce, Lord Roberts presiding, passed a resolution to-day viewing with concern '. the increasing naval preparations of ! other nations, and hoping that immediate steps would be taken to maintain Britain's unchallenged position. The committee expressed its gratification that the overseas contributions to the British navy were additional to the Gov- i ernment's programme.
