JAP. VISITORS ENTERTAINED.
MELBOURNE, this day
Admiral Tochainai and the officers of the Japanese training ships Adzuma and Soya were entertained by the Federal Government to-day.
Mr Fisher (Prime Minister) said that the geographical relation between Australia and Japan made the countries neighbours. He hoped that the peoples would always be friends, and co-operate to enable that friendship to be deep and lasting. There was sufficient scope for all enterprising people, and he said it must be admitted that the enterprise and vigour of the Japanese had made their name honoured throughout the world.
The Admiral, in replying, said Japan would always be anxious to enjoy the friendship of the Anglo-Saxon people, whom all his countrymen admired.
