CITY ELECTRIC POWER SUPPLY
In his'ueual fortnightly report to the City Council, the chief electrical engineer reports that during the period mentioned the units generated totalled 135,716; coal consumed, 424 tons; water consumed, 566,700 gallons; wages paid, £505 13/8; new cuetomeifl, 8, making a total of 1,091.
Reporting on the new power station, Mr. Wylie stated tb*t he is now able to take a larger output from, the station, and will be able to transfer the •whole loiad early in the New YeaT; that he h*e arranged to supply the Tramway Company; and thai the laying of- all feeder cables from the new power sta-' tion ie near completion. The engineer further reported that he had feigned the voucher for the balance of Messrs. John Chambere' contract for boiler hoose, £1,076 »/; that, owing to strike troubles, they were 8 weeks behind their contract time, but had given notice of every cause of delay, and he had therefore not deducted anything under the penalty clause.
