LESS IN 1912.
The returns for 1912 for the business transacted by the Offiflbri Assignee's office, Auckland district, h«v« been completed by Mr. W, S. -Fisher. Tkey show ihat during the year there Were 180 bankruptcies ia the whole Auckland district, of which. 62 -were in Auckland, 10 G*9borne, 11 'Hawera, 9 New Hjteoeth, and 8 Stratford. In 83 cases tiie debtors petitioned, and in 17 *he bankruptcy was on the aippiioajtion of the creditors. The totai emount of lielbilities for the whole district was £62,022 14/, and the total assets aeper ntatentnis feted, £29,----487 8/1. He total aesets realised was £14,140 16/. The debts proved totalled £48,873 13/4, and the Assignee's office paid in dividends £7,715 18/2. Tta.s em of £1,350 5/3 wee paid to preferential creditors in addition to the dividends already stated. The amount of Government commission chained on the estates was £469 2/6. Compared with the statistics for 1911, Ah*.return on the whole is smaller far 1912, as there were bigger liabilities in the estates dealt with the previous year in the Auckland district.
