The Hon. E. Mitchelson has written to the Auckland City Council, tendering his resignation as a Sinking Fund Commissioner, as he is leaving the Dominion for the Old Country in March next.

Mr Hugh Ross, late of the Post Office Savings Bank at Auckland, died at Wellington on Wednesday, after undergoing a serious operation. Mr Ross served in the South African war with the First Contingent. Deceased was only 35 years of age.
