The arrival at Auckland of a German I warship is unusual, so that the stay of the cruiser Cormoran, which anchored in the stream to-day, will be of some interI est locally. The Cormoran is a sturdyI looking vessel, and has same/thing of the j appearance of the British gunboat Torch, ! though the foreign warship is a good deal bigger. Like the Torcn, her foremast is full rigged. It m stated that under favourable conditions the Cormoran is capable of steaming at the rate of 1C knots an hoar.
