At tfiic wool sales there w-as a pood attendance, and keen peneral competition for _11 descriptions at a half-penny above October prices. Some short-wooled lots showed three-farthings advance. LONDON, December 20. Wheat.—Firm, a better demand existing for Australian new crop. Three cargoes sold at 36/0, 37/, and ST/3. Hides.—Moderate supplies, with Arm prices all round. The local office of this company has been advised as follows:—At the ordinary general meeting, to be held on the 7th of next month, the directors will recommend that a diviaend at the rate of 10 per cent per annum be paid for the year (the Interim dividend which has been paid to be deducted therefrom), that £26,2550 be paid to the reserve fund, and £5,180 be carried forward. The approximate amount of net profit is £65,000. The total amount of reserve fund, including the premiums on the new stares recently issued, will be £410,000.
