The letter from Lord Islington is as follows: — "Dear Mr. Bloomfield, —1 should be so much obliged to you if you would convey to the respective yacht and motor boat clubs my sincere apprecaition and thanks for the very charmi ing compliment they paid mc in organising the boat parade in my honour on the last Saturday afternoon I was in Auckland. The parade was a great success in every way, and will always be remembered by mc as a most picturesque sight; and I shall equally remember with appreciation the kindly feeling among all who prompted it, and which was only one more mark of courtesy and kindness added to many previous which I experienced from the people of Auckland, whether on land or afloat.—l am, yours sincerely, ISLINGTON."
