THE BETA WRECKED. CBEW BADLY SHAKEN. (Received 10.5 ajn.) LONDON, December 17. The. British army dirigible Beta while on an experimental voyage from Salisbury Plain to London met with disaster. Tie carburetter froze, causing a breakdown, and the craft alighted amid some trees fringing the Dowager Empress Eugenie's residence near Famborough Hill. The cage was damaged and the occupants severely shaken, when a bough on which the cage was suspended snapped and precipitated them to the giound. Another bough piercvd the envelope, which, became deflated and sank to tha ground, the airship being completely wrecked.
