"BOBS'" TRAINING SCHEME.
LONDON. November 7. Speaking at Taunton. Mr. F. D. Acland (Parliamentary Secretary for Foreign Affairs) said that it was legitimate to question the statesmanship of Lord Roberts, although they could not question his ability as a general.
If, he said, Lord Robe.rts"s training scheme were carried out on the German plan the cost would be an additional ton to fifteen millions annually. Such a scheme, he contended, would be "horribly provocative"' and unnecessary.
