1A SHORT ADJOURNMENT.

WELLINGTON, this day. To-day's sitting of the House of Representatives wUI be confined to necessary business, and an early adjournment will be made as a mark of respect to the Mikado, the late Mr. Eugene O'Connor (formerly member for Buller), and the Hon. R Oliver. Notice will be given to introduce Government bilk, but no papers will be tabled. It is also hoped to get the Imprest Supply Bill through without a lengthy debate. Before adjourning, the Premier will make a statement regarding the High Commissionership. There is no doubt that the Hon. Thomas Mackenzie, will go Home as the ! Dominion's representative.
