MORMONS IN LONDON.
THE MISSIONARIES STRIKE TROUBLE. LONDON, July 23. The Mormon missionaries in Brixton, in the south-west of London, have .been compelled by the force of local antagonism to beat a retreat from that district. The meetings of the sect were largely attended by young girls, who were made specially welfcome. The tactics adopted by the missionaries 1o attract feminine audiences, however, have, lately been combatted by a number of young men, who stationed themselves at the doors of the place of meeting, and prevented! girls from going in. So determined had the hostility towards the Mormons become that the owners of the hall where they held their meetings found it desirable to give them notice to quit. - — ■ -- (
