THE HIGH COMMISSIONERSHIP

NO APPOINTMENT YET.' . " Who ■nUI be the nest High. Commissioner?" was a question put by a "Star" representative this morning to the Hon. Thomas Mackenzie. The attention ot the Prime Minister was at the same >t.imp called to the reports which appeared in the Opposition Press recently to the effect that Cabinet had considered making an appointment, and had come to a ballot, which resulted in favour of the Hon. R. McKenzie in preference to the Hon. Sir J. G. Findlay. ■ This report the Prime Minister emphatically denied. The matter, he said, had not even been considered by Cabinet, and there was no likelihood of any appointment to the position of High Commissioner until after Parliament had met.
