"WHO AIMETH AT THE SKY."
MR. FISHER EXPLAINS. MELBOURNE, June 12. Mr. Fisher (Federal Prime Minister) states that his remarks regarding the "sis-hour day and five-day week" proposal, which were cabled on Monday, are not to be taken as an announcement of the Federal policy. "It was rather a dull bit of humour on my part," he says. "I meant that if we don't aim high we won't do anything." A cable published on Monday stated that the resolution. passed by the New South Wales Labour Congress in favour of the sis-hour day and) the five-day week had been described by Mr. Fisher as a modest ideal. When asked if he agreed with the resolution, he replied: '"'An eminent man once said, _itch your wagon to a star.' I believe in trying to seduce drudgery out of life."
