The iiKToasimj demand for slot telei phones in various centres has caused the Postmastor-Cenernl to appoint several additional mechanicians to the telegraph engineers' staff, so as to increase the output. The machines are being constructed in the Department's workshops. Three mat-nines are on order for Auckland, Napier, ami Christehuich, txso for Hastings, and several more axe to be , fitted in Wellington.
