The others ma4e frantirefforts to escape from the trolley, but th.": collision occurred before, they had time to jump. The men -were scattered in all directions. The. unfortunate four men named were dreadfully injured, and they were killed aJmost instantly. Evan and Hayes, who jumped, were terribly injured, bat soro" boy* is held out for their recovery. Six others were also seriously injured. The train, -which -was in charge of "Driver Collins. Fireman Morris, and Guard Gillies, was instantly pulled up, and after the unfortunate men were placed in the guard's van, proceeded to Lalydale, where, the local doctors were in attendance, and rendered first aid.
