OBITUARY.
THREE TAKAPCXA RESIDENTS. 1 Mr. Thomas Alfred Crisp, one of the : ' early settler* of this province, died yes-! , tKiday at his residence, Takapuna. Mr. 1 ' Crisp arrived in the Dominion in the! early 'sixties, and a few years after-j wards settled at Parua May," Whangarei. Some years ago he came to Auckland, j : and has since resided at Takapuna. The j ' deceased led an active life, and always' ' enjoyed good health. lie was taken ! suddenly ill on "Wednesday, and expired ■ lat noon on Thursday. Mr. Crisp was : !in his 87th year. He was a native of, Bath, England, and was a will-known and highly-respected old gentleman. Ho ' ■ leaves a son and daughter, both mar- ' ried, and settled at Parua Bay. ; Mr. T. Lawle?'- a much resp«vted resident, passe- a""iv this morning at the age of 59. Mr. Lawless was in business ; at the Thames during the 'sixties, t>e3T;<r ! 1 connected with the firm of Haigli, &m'tn j I and Co. He subsequently took a 'icfel 1 i at Paeroa, and then moved to Waihi anrl ! !to Wang-aimi, where he kept the Rut- I ; land Hotel. He purchased a property at ; the Lake in the comparatively early ,' days, and resided there at intervals. ! Until about IS months ago lie had a I hotel at Stratford, but was compelled to give it up owing to ill healtn, and came permanently to live at Takapuna. iAt one time Mr. Lawless was in business j !in Karangahape-road. He was twice '. I married, and leaves a widow and grown--lup family. 1 j Another old identity. Mrs. Ansrus Xi-\h-I olson. residing in Milford-road. Takapuna. passed away suddenly la.-t evening.
