A COUNTRY SENSATION.
ATTEMPT TO BLOW UP A STORE. Ther? was something of a sensation at Aria at the beginning ot the present week, when an attempt was made to destroy the Royal Mail coach, and to blow up the store with gelignite. Kerosene poured over a somber ot empty butter boxes, and ignited, bat the fire was discovered \v several local resident*, and sabdued before any great damage was done. An attempt was than made to blow up the store of the proprietor of the coach with gelignite. This also van fortunately averted. X© cans* can be assigned for the dastardly action, as Mr. Lewis, the proprietor, is very popular. Detective Macmabon. of Auckland, is at present investigating the circumstances of the affair.
