ARNST'S MATCHES.
A RACE WITH BURSA*. SYDNEY, March 7. Dick Arnst has received a cable from Jim Fieldl. agreeing to act for him in the negotiations for a race with Barry. Field asks him to send £IOO deposit. Another cable from Durnan asks Arnst to state terms for a match, "no boat money." Arnst interprets this to mean that Daman's backers want to offer him a fired ram to row on Lake Toronto, the backers taking all the proceeds from steamers viewing the race. Arnst states that if Durnan wants him to stand out of a half share of the gate he wants £SOO for expenses, and a race for £SOO a-side.
If these terms are agreed to. the race will have to stand over till September, after Arnst has met Barry.
