MILITARY CAMPS.

(To the Editor.) Sir, —As a parent andi patriot, I appeal to the fathers and mothers of sons, who. through the law of conscription, are compelled to go into camp (military) like the one held at Whangarci last week, to insist upon some better treatment for our eons. In fortunately, r have re»re<] four sons, three of whom come under tire beading of compulsory training. One of them went into camp last week, nnd the description he gave me is ton bad to let pass. During the week in camp it. cost him 15/0 for eatables out of his own pocket, as the tucker metfod out to them was of the verv worst. Now. my son has been used to a warm .bed, so the change tn sodden grass to lie on. as not even straw was provided, has impaired his health. Happily. I can provide mr-dical comforts for him out of my modest income. 1 intend as soon n» possible to bring this under the notice of our member, Mr. Uccd, who, I feel sure, will do his heat for us and the boys. The booth on the ground somewhat saved the situation, as those who had money were able to buy food for themselves. —I am. etc.. ALBERT WRIGHT.
