The Conference passed a resolution regretting that it would be unable to accede to the request owing to the great pressure of business. It was pointed out, however, that the refusal did not mean that the conference was unsympathetic with the objects" of the League. On the contrary, the Methodists had worked hard in the no-licenae cause at the last election, and Would continue to do so.
