SIGNS OF IMPROVEMENT. Very stormy weather conditions prevailed last night, accompanied by torrents of tz'tu, causing the inundation of lovr-lying ground, but no damage is reported in the city and suburbs. At three p m. this afternoon, Mr- i. T. Stevenson, F R.A.S., supplied the following: " There are now signs of an improverient taking plare in the "weather, very shortly, but present indications are still unsatisfactory, and sho-wery weather ninr still occur with humid conditions, -J.-o thunder and lightning.'
