The wharf labourers at Darling Island, the grain-shipping centre of Sydney Harbour, who struck during a portion oi yesterday—looo men going out and leaving 500 trucks of wheat unloaded—again struck work to-day. The trouble yesterday was over two German steamers that had worked cargo at' Brisbane, the Prihz Waldemar and the Schlesin. It was alleged that the former employed her own crew in coaling at Brisbane, and that the Schlesin loaded a portion of her Queensland cargo with free labour. At a meeting yesterday the Darling Island wharf labourers decided to resume work this morning, except on these two German ships. In accordance with this announced intention, they made a start early this morning, but later on held a meeting and decided not to work while tbs Schlesin is at Darling Island. Th« Schlesin is being worked by her owl crew. The union will discuss whether thej will ever again handle wheat for tht owners of this vessel. The trouble as to the loading of wheat ships is unsettled. Acting under union instructions, the wharf labourers have stopped all loading of cargo for Brisbane. A' meeting of the union is now being held to consider the situation. Further developments are expected.
