TWO NOTABLE VISITORS.
The Rev. Wm. Wooding, formerly minuter of the Stoke-Xe wing ton Unitarian Church, London, and Mrs. Wooding, only sister of Mr. H. H. Asquith, Prime Minister of Great Britain, will arrive in Auckland to-morrow, and will remain in the city for a couple of -weeks. Mr. Wooding represents the British and Foreign Unitarian Association during fcia visit to Australasia, which wan primarily made with the object of visiting his son, a well-known medical practitioner of Geraldine, South Canterbury. In each of the capitals they have visited on the tour, Mr. and Mrs. Wooding have been the guests of the Governors and Governments, and opportunity has been taken to express the great respect which is entertained overseas for Mr. Asquith. Mr. Wooding, was for some years prior to filling the pulpit of the Stoke Newington Church a Congregational minister, while he was also for some time master and principal of the City of London (secondary) School. He is a speaker vi marked ability, a gift which is shared in no small measure by Mrs. Wooding. The local Unitarian Church has mapped out a programme for the visit, which include* a reception by the Mayor at the Town Hall on Friday afternoon, and a welcome by the congregation in the 'church that evening. Mr. Wooding win preach at both services on the two Sundays he is in Auckland, and on Wednesday next be lectures on " Religious Changes I Have Seep." On Tuesday, March 19, he gives some reminiscences of English village life, and the visit will close next evening with a farewell social. Miss Lilian Wooding accompanies her parents.
