PENROSE TO OTAHUHU.
RAILWAY DUPLICATION AT EARLY DATE. MINISTER'S ANNOUNCEMENT. (By Telegraph.—Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON, this day. The question of the duplication of the railway.line between Penrose and Otahuhu was raised by Mr Lang in the Houso ■last night, the member for Ma.nuk.au urging upon the Minister the necessity for undertaking this work hi view of the greatly increasing traffic over that section of the line.
In reply, the Minister said- that tho department fully recognised the importance of duplicating this section of the line, which he admitted must be put ill hand very- shorty to eopa properly, with the traffic. He assured the member that the work of duplicating the strip of railway between Penrose and Otahuku would be put in hand at a very early date.
