THAMES DRAINAGE BOARD.

The Thames Drainage Board met at 2 p.m. to-day. Present: Hon.E. Mitchelson (chairman), Messrs C. Hudson, H. H. Adams, A. Brown, 11. Lowe (Mayor of Thames), W. Baker, Gra.ves Aicken. The statement of accounts for the month of August showed receipts £630 2/5, made upas follows: Sash .balance on August Ist £137 6/8, drainage contribution £476 0/4, and Victoria Co. for coal £6 15/5. The payments were £46 1/, accounts also £256 5/5, leaving a. balance of £317 16/ ,to carry forward. The contributions unpaid total £1169 2/8 and accounts-due amounted to £1786 10/4. Board Regulations. —The chairman reported that Tie had seen the Minister of Mines regarding the regulations under which the Board has to work. The Minister promised to consult with the Crown Law officers, and draft some regulations before the 'end of the year, to meet the present altered requirements. Contributions—The Thames Borough Counail forwarded intimation that the customary donation of £IOO would be made this year.

The Big Piling.—it was resolved to ajjproac'n the trustees of the big'pump at "the northern-end of the field with a suggestion that the property be vested in the names of the Hon. E. Mttche'ison, A. Brown and C. Hudson.
