THE TAKAPUNA DISTRICT.

A fine new map, snowing, the Takapuna riding of the County of Waitemata, kaa just been issued by the Brett Printing and Publishing Company. It illustrates very, markedly the rapid spread of settlement in the Takapuna district since the inauguration of the tram and ferry service. Subdivisions of the various estates are clearly shown, the tram route being marked with red lines and the 'bus by dotted ones. Takapuna Lake appears under its proper Maori designation of "Pupuke," and the bay between O'Neill's Point and the Narrow Netk is marked as "Ngataringa." The new nap is of good size, the scale be. ng 10 chains to an inch. It was compiled by Colonel A. B. Morrow for the Waitemata County Council. The map is mounted on strong calico and highly varnished, and will be sold at 15/, or 20/ mounted.
