A Sydney Press cable announces the death of Mr. F. Lassetter, head of the firm of Lassetter and Co. The death is announced by a Melbourne Press Association cable of Mr. Luxton, a member of the Victorian Legir lative Council. His Excellency the Governor (Lord I»lington) will attend the Auckland-Well-ington representative football match next Saturday. Mr. Henry Shaw, a member of tha Auckland City Council, is expected to return by to-morrow's express from Wellington, which he is visiting on business. The Hon. A. T. Ngata, who ia to lecture on " The Maori of To-day " at the Leys Institute on Friday evening, leave* immediately afterwards to attend a large Maori gathering at Te Kuiti. The TTjfMPgH Ijm CR»rke»Kt., and «M *X j*r Messrs. F. Lawry, S%"lSSfc Tteed, MP., and C. H. I%BL M.P- .were among the guests-in-vited to a dinner at Government Houee, Wellington, on Monday evening. Mr. Samuel Lewis, solicitor, of Cambridge, and Mr. Hubert Hine, solicitor, of Te Kuiti, were admitted as barristers of the Supreme Court of New Zealand by Mr. Justice Chapman, at Auckland thi» morning, on the motion of Mr. Ziman. The London correspondent of the "Pastoralißts' Review " says:—" Dr. W. V. Robinson, the representative of the Associated North Island Freezing Works of New Zealand is to sail from London for New Zealand in October to confer with the body named."
