A DOCTOR'S REPUTATION.
(To the Editor.) Sir, —I fear the above heading in the "Star" over the report of a recent Court caso may mislead those who have not followed the evidence. Would you mind 9'lating that in no way has the reputation of Dr. Bull as a skilful 9urgeon l>eon assailed or even attempted to be assailed? As counsel for the plaintiffs, I did my best to make this clear. Moreover, both Mrs. and Mr. Shorthand, in the course of the evidence, mentioned that 'the operation had been skilfully performed, as shown by there being no recurrence of the growth, and they also mentioned Dr. Bull's kindness and consideration. Dr. Bull was legally liable for an unfortunate accident which temporarily marred the success of the operation, but that cannot injure his reputation as a surgeon.—l am, etc., E. G. B. MOSS.
