MEDICALLY EXAMINED.
BIG PERCENTAGE FIT. Captain C. L. Hawkins, officer in charge of No. 1 area group, Auckland military district, has prepared a comparative statement, showing the progress and results of the medical examination of those eligible for military training. Up to the end of last week 314G applicants for' enrolment in No. 1 group (Auckland City and suburbs) had teen medically examined out of a total of 5535. Of this number 1811 aTe of Territorial age, 2686 senior cadets, and 1038 are at present serving as Territorials. Certain classes are exempt, such as seamen and the obviously unfit, and out of the total the seafaring class number 50 and tho obviously unfit 28. Out of the total of 3146 examined 43 were found to be unfit for one year, and 74 to be permanently unfit.
