l A CORNER IN COLD STORAGE. (Received 10.10 p.m.) SYDNEY, this day. I A deputation informed Mr. Flowers (Chief Secretary) that the Meat Combine bad cornered the slaughtering space in the abattoirs, and, although not using the space themselves, refused to allow others to use it, thereby hampering trade. Mr. Flowers professed amazement at the statement, and declared emphatically that the Department would not tolerate such a condition, even if it had to cancel the leases. The matter would be remedied in such a manner that there would be an impossibility of its recurrence.
