GROCERS AND CORONATION DAY.

(To the Kditor.) Sir, —Thte letter 'appearing in last night's "Star," signed 'by Mr. A. Rosser, displays a spirit which is responsible for much of the friction existing hetween employer and employee. Mr. Rosser alleges in his letter that the master grocers desired to show their patriotism at the expense of the. assistants. This is obviously untrue. The masters desired no sacrifice from the assistants. They were quite prepared - to. pay. for nine hours' lahour on Thursday which they would not receive, if the assistants •would work six extra hours on Wednesday without pay.—l am, etc., . ■ W. McMATH.
