CHAMBER OF COMMERCE DINNER.

The Auckland Chamber of Commerce annual dinner takes place to-morrow evening at the Northern Club, and it is expected that there will be a very large attendance. His Excellency the Governor, Lord Islington, will be present. A telegram was this morning received by the President of the Chamber (Mr. Leo. Myers) from the Acting-Prime Minister (the Hon. Jas. Carroll) stating that he regrets he will be unable to attend to-morrow evening, but that the Hon. D. Buddo, Minister for Internal Affairs, will represent the Government. During the evening speeches will be made by the Governor, the president, and the vicepresident of the Chamber (Messrs. Leo. Myers and G. Elliott), the Mayor (Mr. C. J. Parr), the Hon. D. Buddo, Mr. W. F. Massey, M.P., and Mr. H. C. Tewsley (President of the Wellington Chamber of Commerce).
