ALLEGED EMBEZZLEMENT.
PUBLIC TRUST POTTOS MISAPPROPRIATED. DUNEDIN CLERK ARRESTED, (By Telegraph.—Prea» Association.) CHRISOX-HTJBCH, Sunday. It is reported that an extensive mis* appropriation oi funds has been discov ered on the part of certain members oj the office staff of the local branch of th< Public Trust Office. One clerk has beeß arrested at Dunedin as he was on tht point of leaving New Zealand, and ©the! arrests are expected locally. DUNEDIN, Sunday. A young man named Alexr. William Ironside was arrested here last night on a charge of embezzling £700 belonging to the Public Trust Office at Christy church, where he had been employed. DUNEDIN, this day. Alexander William Ironside appeared before the Court to-day, and was remanded to Christchurch. When prisoner was arrested he had twenty-five pounds in his possession. WELLINGTON, this day. ' The Public Trustee desires it to b» •understood that none of the staff of th« Public Trust Office of Christchurch arf implicated in the alleged embezzlement except Ironside. A statement that further arrests are to he madu in Christ church is incorrect
