ST. ANDREWS SOCIETY.
Members of the St. Andrew's Choral Society met at the Federal Hall Club-rooms last night for their annual meeting. There was a large attendance, and the proceedings opened with some stirring bag-pipe selections.
The annual report showed that the various concerts and gatherings had been well attended. There were 210 members of the Society at the beginning of the year, and since 25 new members were added; there were fifteen resignations and two deaths in the year. The balancesheet showed a credit to the Society of £232 16/2.
The following officers were chosen to act for tbe ensuing year:—President, Mr. P. M. MaeKay: vice-presidents, Messrs. T. W. Baxter and J. Arneil: secretary, Mr. J. Edmiston; treasurer, Mr. Murray Bell; council. J. B. King, J. Robertson. J. Morion. G. J. Mackay. J. Gardiner. G. M. Johnston, and W. A. Mcintosh: auditors, Messrs. G. J. Miller and D. Littlejohn.
At the conclusion of the business, the haggis, headed by sturdy Pipe-Major Emslie, was "played in " and handed round. Then the eveninz was given up to harmony, the following contributing: Messrs. Hunter, McDonald, Mortimer, Carter, Carbines, King, and the St. Andrews' Pipe Band.
