Intense jealousy on the part of Lieut. Racieh, an officer iv the Austrian navy, has led to his arrest on a charge of attempted murder. lime. Racieh's life was made ntterly miserable by her husband's Iwiseless suspicions, and at last she left hlin and began proceedings for a divorce. One day. as she was walking in the street, her husband met her, and begged her to return. She refused, whereupon he produced a revolver and fired several shots at het face, exclaiming that no other man should enjoy her beauty. A. crowd gathered and threatened to lynch the lieutenant, who had to take refuge in a house, where he remained until .he .was arrested.
