BOXING CHAMPIONSHIP.
ENGLISH MIDDLE-WEIGHT TITLE. PAPKE BEAT SULLIVAN. (Received 1.45 p.m.) LONDON, June 8. The match between Jim Sullivan (mid-dle-weight champion of England) and Billy Papke (the American boxer recently in Australia, who claims the world's title) resulted in a win for the American. The match was scheduled for 20 rounds, but Papke knocked his man out in the tenth round. Papke and Sullivan were matched to go 20 rounds for the English middleweight title, which Sullivan held, by Mr. H. D. Mcintosh, the Sydney promoter. Papke's claim to the middle-weight championship is generally accepted since his decisive defeat of Dave Smith in Sydney. Mr. Mcintosh has also arranged a match between Papke and Marcel Moreau, the French middle-weight champion.
