STORMY WEATHER.
Stormy weather conditions prevail on both coasts, but on the West Coast the gale is most severe. For several days past vessels of the mosquito fleet have been weather-bound at Mercury Bay and Bay of Plenty ports, and there is little prospect of their getting out at present. A fierce westerly gale was raging to-day, and on the Manukau it was of exceptional violence. The steamer Kotuku left the Onehunga wharf for Greytclouth this morning, and was still anchored inside the Heads this afternoon, being unable to get out owing to the big sea on the bar.
