EDUCATION BOARD.

« The Auckland Education Board met this morning. Present: Messrs G. J. Garland (chairman), G. W. Murray, D. B. Wallace, A. J. E'armer, C. J. Barriball, G. Edgcumbe, and A. K. Hards. APPOINTMENTS. The following appointments were authorised:—Mr J. McElroy, to be teacher at Maramaxua school (full time); Mr F. L. Johnston, to temporary charge of Waltakaruru school (fnll time); Mr W. Stanton, to be teacher Ngatakl aided school; Mrs J. Evans, to be teacher Manngatautari Ho. 2 school; Mrs E. M. M. Thomas, to be teacher PoketawQi aided school; Miss A. Gillanders, assistant to Man rami school; Mrs D. B. Peat, to be temporary assistant Aoroa school; Miss I. Louch, to be temporary assistant Manurewa school. RESIGNATIONS. The following resignations were acceptee: —Miss M. J. Thorp, Puketnrna school;* Mr E. S. Henderson, Knimaum&u; Mies H. Wait, Boknhia; Miss It. E. Perham, Hmgatifci; Mr A. E. Grigg, Kanrihohore; Hr F. 11. MunseU, Waiomlo-; and Miss B. M. Horseman, Aoroa. TENDEES. Tenders .were received for the- erection- ot a technical and manual training school building at 'Walhi, but tt was decided, on the recommendation of the architect, to submit the tenders to the Department. MISCELLANEOUS. A letter from the South Canterbury Board recommended representations to the Department that voluntary contributions for improvements to primary schools should be pat on the same footing as similar coirtrlbations to secondary schools, in the shape of carrying Government subsidies.—lt was decided to join forces in making representations.
